European HR Forum Milan HR Strategy Network
Themes: 1. Enterprise 2.0 enabled transformation
2. Corporate Social Responsibility for HR
Università degli Studi di Milano, Milan
14h.30 – 18hFriday, 28th January 2011
As thought leaders in HR strategy I invite you to join a roundtable discussion on two important emerging topics. The meeting will be at the University of Milan, kindly hosted by Luca Solari, Professor of HRM and Organisation Theory. Our focus of course is not theory, but, practice.
The first topic is: Organisation transformation with the use of enterprise 2.0 technologies. The future requires the agility to respond quickly to changing events and customer/market needs. An agile, customer driven organisation requires excellent internal communication, knowledge sharing, creativity and collaboration and Enterprise 2.0 technology provides the web 2.0 tools to enable this. More and more organisations will need to adopt such technology both to be competitive and meet the expectations of computer savvy generation Z, however, the free flow of information and collaboration has enormous implications for bureaucratic and hierarchical organisations…interesting!
Lynda Tyler, the former Group HR Director, Ermenegildo Zegna, now Tyler- Cagni Consulting, and co-author of a book on the subject scheduled for publication in Italy in Spring 2011, will lead the discussion.
Following which, Professor Solari will lead a second discussion on: Corporate Social Responsibility in HR.
The recession is having a negative impact on the exercise of corporate social responsibility towards the stakeholders in the firm, in particular the welfare provisions for employees. Luca will explain more fully when we meet.
Everyone is welcome to add to the agenda.
Following the meeting it will be great to get together for an aperitif and then on to a local restaurant for an informal networking meal together. Everyone invited, pay your own bill.
Please complete the registration so that we can arrange the accommodation and hospitality. Guests are welcome and you are encouraged to bring a colleague from another department or organisation, the pre-requisite is a keen interest in HR strategy and practice.
